To Check First: If an assessment isn’t set to Graded, its scores won’t sync to your LMS gradebook.

To Set an Assessment to Graded:

Option 1: Activity Settings Page

  1. Go to Instructor Tools → Activity Settings.
  2. Either:
    1. Check the “Graded” box next to individual items, then click “Save Changes,”
    2. Select multiple items, click “Batch Edit,” click “Update Settings,” then select “Graded” and save.

Option 2: Individual Assessment Page

  1. Navigate to the page that contains the assessment.
  2. Switch to Authoring Mode.
  3. Move your cursor over the assessment and click “Edit.”
  4. Go to “Edit Component.”
  5. Set “Graded” to “Yes” (and set a due date if desired), then save.
  6. Scores will now sync automatically.

After you have confirmed that the relevant assessments are set to Graded, you can perform a manual sync, as follows:

  1. Go to “LTI Sync Manager” under Instructor Tools.
  2. Click Cancel Selection (if needed).
  3. Select the relevant assignment(s).
  4. Click Next.
  5. Click Select All on the students page.
  6. Click Sync Now.
  7. Click Proceed.
  8. Wait for the sync to finish. Don’t leave the page or close the browser window/tab. You will see an “LTI Setup Successful” message when the sync is complete.
