This video tutorial covers how students access and navigate the e-Book area of their Oxford Insight course.
Your e-book is going to be the basis for your entire course and if you’re used to having a textbook, the e-book section of Oxford Insight will look most familiar to you.
To navigate to the e-book, click on your Course. Once you’ve logged in to the Oxford Insight platform, you will now see your course dashboard. On the left hand menu, click the Content button — this is where you will find your e-book. At the top of the list is module called “Getting Started with Oxford Insight.” Click this link.
By clicking on the top section you’ll begin to work your way through the “Getting Started” module, which will teach you all about the Oxford Insight interface. Your instructor may choose to assign this to you. Use the arrows at the bottom right of the screen to click through the different pages and the Chapter Content link to jump around in the module. Once you’ve completed the quiz at the end of the module, click the Next button to proceed on to your e-book.
You can access the e-book at any time by using the left-side navigation menu. Your e-book is broken down into chapters, and those chapters are broken down by sub-modules built around learning objectives. You can click into a chapter and start from the beginning, or navigate to a specific part.
Once you select your chosen section of reading, you’ll see a large display of text as well as a new menu showing the contents of that sub-module. You can click on the various links to jump around to the included quizzes videos or discussion boards. To get to the next section of the chapter, use the Next, Previous, or Chapter Content buttons on the bottom right of the screen. You can also use the left-hand menu to navigate back to the homepage at any time, or use the same menu from any location within the platform to return to your text.
If you need more space for your reading or activities, you can use the arrow buttons to hide the menus and the same buttons to open them again.
